JOHNSON CREEK, Wis., August 5, 2004 - Steiner® is introducing the ZTM RS PLUS™, a zero-turn mower with the capability of a towing utility vehicle, the power of a mobile generator and the quality cut customers have come to expect from Steiner equipment.

In the U.S., the average small farmer is responsible for the upkeep of 543 cropland acres by combining PowerLink® mobile generator technology and Steiner's towing features, the ZTM RS PLUS will save time and be more efficient than hauling equipment and rolling out extension cords. Farmers and large estate owners alike will have the capability to cut their lawns and groom their fields all at once.

Steiner designed the ZTM RS PLUS with both large estate and small farm owners in mind. The precision zero-turn capability is perfect for hard to reach trimming such as fences and barns. Additionally, the ZTM RS PLUS offers the exclusive PowerLink system, a mobile built-on power technology that generates up to 1000 watts of continuous AC electric power.

PowerLink allows ZTM RS PLUS operators to hook right up to their lawn mower instead of running extension cords or hauling an additional generator to run electrical tools such as hedge trimmers, blowers, power drills and saws. In addition, PowerLink can work as a back-up generator to run appliances and sump pumps in emergency situations. Its power outlet is easy to reach and is located near the seat of the mower.

With the capability for a tow-behind trailer for transporting equipment like trimmers and edgers, along with an optional Five-bushel grass catcher and a mulching kit, time spent on lawn maintenance can be reduced without sacrificing the dramatic results of a Steiner cut.

The mower's new Transaxles by Hydro-Gear feature built-in charge pumps, which improves handling and provides a noticeably smoother, quieter ride. Engineers also increased the maximum ground speed in the RS PLUS to 7.5 mph for maximum efficiency, cutting up to three acres per hour. The deck and body are built with the same high-quality materials and manufacturing process as CGC's larger commercial models giving the ZTM RS PLUS unprecedented durability.

With controls conveniently positioned within easy reach of the operator, the ZTM RS PLUS is ergonomically friendlier to operate. The mower has fully-dampened forward and reverse controls, plus a push-pull PTO switch for the electric clutch. In addition, it meets ANSI standards for braking and stability.

Providing customization to an owner's specific job requirements, the ZTM RS PLUS offers three Briggs and Stratton® engine options ranging from a powerful single cylinder 17.5 hp to the 25 hp V-twin which comes standard with PowerLink. All three engines feature full pressure lubrication, high-capacity filters and chrome-plated exhaust valves, as well as many other extended-life features.

Two layers of 10-gauge steel on the top deck combined with Seven-gauge steel skirts and baffles make the Steiner ZTM RS PLUS solid and sturdy for long-term performance. A polyester electro-static powder coating paint over the body yields a higher salt-spray resistance rating, resulting in a longer lasting, more durable finish to protect against ultra-violet sun rays and other weather-wear conditions.
